Yes, this is the time of Year when we pull out our New Years Spreads, as everyone is wondering about the coming Year, and what it has to hold for us!
There are many, many New Years Spreads out there, just do a Google search, but many are complicated / massive spreads. So I wanted to offer something Quick and Easy....
For this, I once again turned to my Go-To-Spread, from Susyn Blair-Hunt's book: "Tarot Prediction & Divination". This is a very adaptable 5-card Yes/No spread, that's especially wonderful for the Mini-Readings I offer on our Radio Shows!

Adapting it as a New Years Spread, we have the five cards in a line, with the center card (card #3) as the Central Focus. This is a general outlook on the New Year. The Over-All Energy, if you will.
The remaining cards are for the four quarters of the year, with card #1 as the 1st Quarter (Jan, Feb, March), card #2 as the 2nd quarter (April, May, June), card #4 as the 3rd quarter (July, Aug, Sept), and the last card #5 as the 4th quarter (Oct, Nov, Dec).
In addition to the main five cards, as with normal configuration of this spread, you can always pull additional Qualifier Cards, when you need more information!
In the above example (My New Years Sread for 2021), the Over-All Energy this Year is represented by The Four of Swords (shown here from the Radiant Deck). This makes a lot of sense to me, as I have also just entered a Personal Year of 9, the End of a Cycle.
The traditional meaning of this Card is taking a step back, retreating, recharging, etc. There's a lot of mental activity, as represented by all these Swords. So it's time to take a step back, re-evaluate, think outside of the box, get a fresh look, while trying to quiet the mind-chatter!
In a 9 Personal Year, it's time to let go of things that aren't working, that no longer serve us. Everything from ways of thinking, to relationships, old projects, beliefs, bad habits, and yes - physical objects. Stuff we haven't touched in the last six months (or six years!). The Four of Swords has a similiar theme of Letting Go...
In the 1st Quarter (Jan, Feb, March), we have The Knight of Wands! It's a time when I will be moving forward with Vision, focused on what I am Passionate about, and my Goals for 2021...
This leads to The Sun Card in the 2nd Quarter (April, May, June). Here I enjoy the Success, Fulfillment, and Accomplishment, set in motion in the 1st Quarter! ...WOW! - I was excited to see THAT card come up! 😎🤣
In the 3rd Quarter (July, Aug, Sept), there's the possibility of negative thoughts or attitudes slipping in, with The Five of Swords showing up. This is a warning to keep the momentum from the first two Quarters of the Year moving forward! To not let ideas of loss / failure to sneak in - Failure is Not an Option!
There is also the possibility of Communications Problems, This could be arguments or even literally technical issues, with communication. It can suggest being in a Winning Position, however at the expense of others.
In the last Quarter of the Year (Oct, Nov, Dec), The Three of Pentacles shows up! "3" is Creativity and Communication. This card can suggest artistic ability and the mastering of a craft, the profitable use of one's skills. It can also suggest Approval, and reward/acknowledgement of one's abilities and skills .........Hey I am liking the sound of this! 🤣
In the Card, three individuals work on a project together. As this is a Personal Year of 9, the End of a Cycle, this makes a lot of sense. January 2022 I begin a whole *New Cycle, with a 1-Year. It makes sense that towards the end of this year, after I have Let Go of what no longer serves me, that I'd be making preparations for and working on a *New Project, for the coming Year of 2022!
