The Tarot Card of The Day (COTD) for Monday, June 28th, 2021 is The Star! ..."Hope, Optimism, Abundance and The True-Self"!
The Star card is card #17, which reduces (17 = 1 + 7 =8) to the Eight-Vibration of Abundance & Prosperity.
This is a very striking and mysterious card. Perhaps it initially appears simple, but there is a lot going on here!
In the Waite/Smith version, (shown here from the Radiant Deck), a large 8-pointed star fills the night sky, surrounded by seven smaller stars (8 stars)...
This card appears after many of the more difficult cards in the Tarot deck; The Hanged Man, Death, The Devil, and right after The Tower!
We are in the second-cycle of the Major Arcana, which began with card 10 - the Wheel of Fortune (1), and progressed through card 11 - Justice (2), card 12 - The Hanged Man (3), card 13 - Death (4), card 14 - Temperance (5), card 15 - The Devil (6), and card 16 - The Tower (7), bringing us to The Star (8)...
The large star reminds me of The Magi, seeking out the baby Jesus, guided by Star of Bethlehem.
Perhaps she has gone to the pool of water (the subconscious, collective consciousness, spiritual realm) to perform a ritual of purification and rejuvination, after a "Dark Night of The Soul"...
She comes to the pool "Skyclad" (naked), as in modern pagan rituals. She has shed the layers of the Ego-Self, and any connections to helf Life in the Material Realm.
She returns now to her True-Self, and like the angel in the Temperance Card, has one foot in the water, and kneels with the other, on the dry land.
This represents, as in the Temperance card, our true nature, as beings straddling between the worlds of the conscious and subconscious, spiritual and material...
With a pitcher in her left hand, she pours the Waters of Life onto the ground, which splits off into five rivulets, representing our five senses, in the physical world.
She also has a pitcher in her right hand, pouring some of the water back into the collective, showing the true nature of Abundance & Prosperity as Balance, and a continuous Flow. The pool is replenished even as it flows out and is used.....
An Ibis bird, perched on a nearby tree, observes the scene. The Ibis is a symbol of Wisdom, revered by the ancient Egyptians as the living embodiment of the God Thoth.
Thoth often appears in depictions with the body of a man and the head of an ibis. He is the God of Scribes and Writing. This would be a good day to journal or create a book of shadows.
The DAY today, the "28th", reduces to (28 = 2 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 =1) the One-Vibration of Self. ...and the "17" of The Star card is composed of "1", as well, and "7" ...The Seeker! ......Yes! A good day for journaling, self-reflection and introspection!
